The Winkie Treasure Hunt is a long-time tradition going back to the earliest days of the convention. It has morphed into other formats in recent years due to restrictions put on the convention by the venue.

2012 Winkie Treasure Hunt

The Patch Game In this year's hunt, characters from Oz had been patched and needed the attendees' help to get their pieces back together. Around the courtyard and buildings of the convention were patched characters, one side pink and one side blue. All attendees also got a patched character in their name tags. To get the characters back to normal, people were urged to cut the two sides apart and find the other side through trading or finding more pieces. Once together, tape was provided to make them stick.

The winner of the treasure hunt was Kevin Thomas, who discovered and matched about double the characters of his nearest competitor.
